Nesian Mystiks new video Mr Mista featuring Che Fu and Cidel and Kimbra. If hope had a theme song, hopefully it would sound like this. Mr Mista is a conversation between those in power and those in the passenger seat being taken for a ride. People are overwhelmed these days by talk of terrorism, economic depression and war, it’s almost like we’ve become desensitised and left with a feeling of hopelessness. This song was about bringing back the real power of music and empowering people with messages of hope. We wrote this song with the intent of leaving people with the feeling of being encouraged and free to ask questions of our leaders and media.

Nesian Mystik release their third album "Elevator Musiq".
Elevator Musiq is about setting standards, taking our music to new heights and reflecting our desire to share our stories at home and on an international stage. Our mission was to bring those unashamedly Nesian characteristics, that are uniquely from Aotearoa, and morph it with high production levels to produce an awesome experience for the listener. This album is that keep-sake. With the advent of technology; geographical barriers fade and perspective can become lost in the mainstream global market. This album is our line in the sand, it says “this is who we are world….watch this space”. We haven’t tried to follow trends but rather have strived to set them, and in the process we have drawn influences from jazz, reggae, singer songwriter & disco, but with the common thread throughout being truly Nesian. A lot of bands say there’s something on their album for everyone and for us this is true. Elevator Musiq is the Chris Cairns of albums, the all rounder with style in our unashamedly bias opinion. If this album were a super hero you would have to take all the powers from the x-men and fantastic 4 plus superman (minus the undies) to start to get a picture of just how super it is. Creating this album has reportedly raised the IQ levels of all Nesian Mystik so imagine what it could do in the right hands.Hopefully it makes you dance, ponder and laugh the same way it made us do so when creating it.

It was another huge night for New Zealand Music Videos as the 8th Annual Juice TV Awards rocked the Stamford Plaza in Auckland. Nesian Mystik picked up "BEST HIP HOP VIDEO" for their Video "Nesian 101" which was directed by Luke Sharpe from Bunker Media.

“Nesian 101” is Nesian Mystiks fresh off the boat new single from their forth-coming album.While on tour overseas and slightly homesick, nesians decided to produce the ultimate song defining the word fresh. “Everybody's always asking us, what’s the meaning of ‘Nesian Style’? Well, ‘Nesian 101’ kind of break’s it down. Island mix-tapes always have the traditional island song’s mix with modern beats and we thought why not make the ultimate fresh anthem that doesn’t need to be remixed, it already is just that! ‘Fresh’ as in both the hip hop term of new and cool, as well as referring to how we all grew up.” As a special treat for their fans the boys have decided to offer ‘Nesian 101’ as a complimentary download for three weeks only. From the 19th May to the 9th June the single “Nesian 101” can be downloaded for free from radio station websites “The Edge” and “Mai FM”.
